The following workers will be engaged in mining activities when the production rate equals or exceeds 60 <br />tons a day: <br />• two to three contract workers will be involved in blasting activities; <br />• up to nine workers will conduct exploration and ore production activiites and will be <br />involved in ore removal and transport of ore from the mine site to a third party <br />contracted custom mill. <br />Power to the May Day No. l work area will be provided by 1 I OkW diesel powered generators located at <br />the May Day No. 1 portal. Diesel fuel for May Day Idaho Mine Complex will be stored and handled in <br />accordance with the Environmental Protection Plan (Exhibit U, Section 6.4.20.7) and MSHA regulations. <br />Phase 3- Production Expansion <br />Based on the results of the underground exploration activities, the underground operational area may be <br />expanded. If surface disturbance outside of the existing affected permit area is required, an amendment or <br />technical revision (TR) will be submitted for approval. <br />Phase 4 - Mine Completion and Closure <br />At the end of the life of the mine, disturbed areas will be reclaimed in accordance with the approved <br />Reclamation Plan (Exhibit E). Closure of the mine will include demolition of the mine buildings and <br />structures and removal of salvageable material from the permit area. Non -salvageable materials will be <br />buried in place or in the adits and Stopes or, if warranted, removed from the permit area and disposed <br />offsite in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, or ordinances. <br />6.4.4(b) Earthmoving <br />Based on the proposed mine plan, the following earthmoving activities will be undertaken at the site (in <br />proposed order of operation): <br />• road and bench stormwater structures grading, installation and maintenance; <br />road cut and fill maintenance; <br />May Day No. 1, May Day No. 2 and Pay Day Idaho bench mine rock storage, and ore transfer; <br />6.4.3(c) Water diversions and impoundments <br />No diversions or impoundments will be constructed. <br />6.4.4(d) The size of area(s) to be worked at any one time <br />As described above, most of the operational activity will occur in underground workings. Surface <br />disturbances will be limited to the operational areas depicted on Figure D-1. These mine disturbed areas <br />are anticipated to be limited to less than 46 acres at any one time and are located in the affected mine <br />areas during the life of the mine. <br />11 <br />
