3.2.3.2 Feature 2
Feature 2 is semi -circular dark stained sediment with charcoal flecking approximately 56 cm north
to south by 49 cm east to west (Figures 16 and 17). Actual top of the feature is unknown. However,
the feature appears to be approximately 10 cm below ground surface. The size and location of
the feature within the site grid system necessitated one 1 by 1 m unit being established to
investigate it.
The feature's depth below the mechanically exposed surface is 8.5 cm below 207N 203E unit
datum. Overall feature shape appears to be roughly circular in planview with a lenticular profile.
Moderate root action is moderately distorting the overall shape. Feature fill consisted of dark
stained sediment (10YR3/1, Very Dark Gray); sparse charcoal flecking; and one piece of HAIR
(>10 cm diameter size class, (0.25kg)).
