FUGRO CONSULTANTS, INC.
39.13733, -108.31436
Palisade, CO
Figure 1: General Location Map
Fugro Consultants Inc., (FCL) performed the geophysical surveys for Huddleston -Berry Engineering & Testing
LLC. The field data were collected between July 22 and July 25, 2016 by Sr. Staff Geophysicist Lincoln Steele
and Associate Geologist Jamey Turner.
Data Acquisition
The objective of this revised geophysical investigation was to use electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) to map
potential groundwater pathways draining into the abandoned mine workings of the Snowcap coal mine. FCL
deployed the AGI R8 SuperSting resistivity system over eight North-South survey alignments on site. The R8
system is an 8 channel, 84 electrode systems capable of measuring a variety of resistivity arrays during each
survey. The survey lines were 124.5 meters in length (full 84 electrode array) with even 1.5 meter electrode
spacing. A targeted resistivity survey comprised of the Dipole/Dipole method was used to best image the
subsurface along each profile. The survey lines were adjusted over the site to best evaluate potential subsurface
anomalies and pathways in the area of concern. The first line (SR8) was collected just west of the ditch
sinkholes but still within the area underlain by the mine workings. Figure 2 shows the survey area with each of
the eight new ERT profiles (labeled SR) and original seven profiles (labelled L), noted surface features, and the
boundaries of the imaged ERT anomaly from the first survey.
Project/Proposal No. 04.79160011 August 23, 2016 Page 2 of 7
TR -69 A14-15-5 09/16
