The Division conducted an inspection of the Gloria Z Mine on September 7, 2017 and found
the 12-foot wide gravel road which connected the Gloria Z Mine to the neighboring JRS
Mining operation is no longer present. Please provide clarification as to why the road was
removed between the submittal of the Technical Revision application and the inspection
conducted on September 7, 2017.
A rock berm has been installed at the downhill end of the road for off season sediment control.
This berm will be removed when mining commences next year.
2. The currently approved Mining Plan Map depicts the area where the 12-foot wide gravel road
was located as `Pre-law Disturbance'. Since the Operator has significantly affected this area,
it may no longer be considered pre-law disturbance. As such, both the Mining and
Reclamation Plan Maps must be revised to show the Operator has affected this area. In
addition, the Reclamation Plan must be revised to address how the Operator intends to
conduct reclamation on this area.
See the attached Map C-2 and Map F-1.
3. The Applicant did not submit a revised Mining Plan Map to depict the location of the new
road(s). Please submit a revised Mining Plan Map which depicts the location of all roads
within the boundaries of affected land as required by Rule 6.4.3.
See the attached Map C-2.
4. The Applicant has stated the road adjacent to the stormwater collection ditch will remain
following reclamation. If the purpose of the road is to access the stormwater collection
ditches, what purpose will the road serve when the stormwater collection ditch is removed
during final reclamation? The Operator must describe how the road will be utilized for the
post-mining land use of rangeland and explain why it is appropriate for the road to remain.
Gloria Z Pit 1 X I--I i- _1 _laic+.I.I,
