The weather was clear and the ground dry at the time of the inspection. The inspection was accompanied <br />by Scott Wanstedt of BME. The longwall continues in panel LW-B14 and no coal trains were observed at the <br />time of the inspection. Currently, no revisions are under review by the Division. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION – Rule 4.17: <br /> <br />No fugitive dust was observed from disturbed areas during the inspection. Evidence of dust suppression on the <br />haul road was observed during the inspection. No problems were noted. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> <br />All records were located in the Deserado Mine office of Scott Wanstedt. Please see the Availability of Records <br />accompanying this report. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> <br />The post mining land use associated with the Deserado Mine is rangeland and wildlife habitat. Mule deer were <br />observed during the inspection and Colorado big game hunting season was in progress during the inspection. No <br />hunters were observed during the inspection. No activities or reclamation conditions were observed to prohibit the <br />use of wildlife in or around the mine site. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The DP-1 Pond was impounding water with no discharge noted. The pond embankments were stable and well <br />vegetated. The emergency and primary spillways were in compliance with no problems noted at the time of the <br />inspection.
