The Lucky Strike contains an approved tailings disposal area adjacent to the mill. It is
unlined, and there is presently no plan to line it. Geologic information contained in the
existing EPP demonstrates that there are no faults or fractures beneath the tailings
area. Therefore there is no opportunity for deep percolation of contaminated
water. The EPP also shows that there are no seeps or springs down-gradient of the mill
or tailings area, so there will be no communication of surface water with groundwater
there.
Our processing of the ore will extract the maximum reasonable amount of metals
possible, resulting in a barren,fine-grained medium to be disposed of in the tailings
facility. All water will be captured and reused in the processing.
Initial test runs of our milling process indicate that no additions to the tails will be
necessary to neutralize the pH or immobilize residual metals before disposal. The
dried tails will be trammed to the disposal area by wheeled loader, and compacted in
place.
No unprocessed ore will be left stockpiled on the ore pad over the winter, or left on the
ore pad at any time for longer than 180 days.
Please see the supplement to the EPP (below) for the updated list of materials and
reagents and the datasheets.
The results of the leach tests of the 2150 Vein ore and the Sacramento ore are included
as a supplement following the EPP (Exhibit T).
Test runs of the mill process performed by a lab resulted in production of a small
amount of tails. An analytical report of these tails is included in the EPP supplementary
material,below.
ALSH also commits to regular ongoing leach testing of ores. We will leach test no less
than quarterly(at least every three months) when we are processing uniform ore, and
will additionally order leach tests every time we anticipate a change in the ores to be
processed at the mill. These ongoing, periodic lab results will be submitted to DRMS in
a timely fashion for review.
