J. Describe and locate any structures to be constructed (i.e. stockpiles, ponds,
impoundments):
NONE. Stockpiles are temporary and material is returned to excavation by end of issued
permit.
K. Describe anticipated relationship to surface water and groundwater (proximity to
streams, penetration of ground water aquifers):
All prospect sites are on elevated hillside. The nearest permanent stream is greater than
500 feet from any dig site. The water table will not be penetrated.
IV. OPERATION AND RECLAMATION MEASURES:
1. The -Board suggests that a photographic record of the pre-prospecting and
post-prospecting conditions be kept by the prospector. These photos should be taken
from the same location and by the same method to clearly show the pre-prospecting
condition of the land and the reclamation efforts. Upon completion of reclamation and
request for bond or surety release, the Board may consider the photos as evidence of
adequate reclamation, and thus, be able to act more quickly on the request for release.
2. Provide a description of the native vegetation of the area to be disturbed, including
tree, shrub, and grass communities of the area. Color photographs, sufficient to
adequately represent the ecology of the site and adequately labeled (including date,
orientation and location), may be used in lieu of a written description. Based on the
quality of the photographs, the Division may require additional detail.
General: Each of the following sites has varying levels of disturbance from previous digs. These dig sites were chosen
because they reveal the presence of pegmatite structures. The larger timbre that survived the Hayman fire on each site
will not be damaged by our prospecting activities.
Site 001 on the New Hawk mining claim has moderate disturbance from previous digs. The area had some damage
from the 2002 Hayman fire, killing mostly the larger timber There are a handful of small Aspens to the north and south
of the digs. Bunch grasses are also well established and there is some wax currant.Site 002 on the New hawk mining
claim has one very large disturbance from a previous dig that is very old. There are a few smaller hand digs on the
eastern part of the site. This area was also damaged by the Hayman fire, but there are a few mature pines and/or
spruce trees that survived. These trees will not be disturbed by the proposed prospecting activities. Bunch grasses are
well established on the hillside as well as yucca plants and some wax currant.
Form 2—Public File Page 8 of 14
