6. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting (or better)
condition:
No new roads will be built. Pre-existing 4WD trails will be used for walking in the
equipment. No other vehicles will be off road. When the machine is walked out, any
new disturbances will be recontoured and reseeded. We will block off these trails to
prevent any further use, thus facilitating recovery.
7. List the seed mixture to be used in the re-establishment of vegetation. See the attached
seed mixture calculation to obtain PLS/acre. For assistance with formulating seed
mixtures and rates, contact the local NRCS if on private land, BLM/USFS if on public
land or State Land Board if on state land.
A. Plant name and seeding rate:
Plant Name Seeding Rate (PLS/Acre)
Elymus lanceolatus (thickspike wheatgrass var. Critana) 23% 9.2 Ibs
Bromus marginatus (mountain brome var. Bromar) 20% 8.0 Ibs
Festuca ovina (sheep fescue var. Covar) 15% 6.0 Ibs
Koeleria cristata (prairie junegrass) 15% 6.0 Ibs
Leymus cinereus (great basin wildrye) 10% 4.0 Ibs
Bouteloua gracilis (blue gramma var. Hachita) 10% 4.0 Ibs
Poa canbyi (canby bluegrass var. Canbar) 5% 2.0 Ibs
Trifolium fragiferum (strawberry clover) 2% .8 Ibs
Seeding rate will be based on USFS recommendation of 40 Ibs live seed per acre. However, the
actual live rate amount could change slightly in a given season depending on the availability of seed
and the tested germination rate for a given season.
Each site will be reseeded until adequate growth is achieved. If a site does not show good growth the
following spring it will be reseeded. Progress will be tracked in yearly prospecting reports.
Form 2—Public File Page 10 of 14
