During the inspection the W-1 and W-2 ponds were dry. The <br />embankments of the ponds are well vegetated and stable. There were no indications of erosion. The Facilities Area and <br />Portals at the West Mine have been revegetated for several years. The vegetation has grown in well and stabilized the <br />reclaimed area. There were no erosional f eatures identified. <br /> <br />The sediment pond at the Paonia Loadout was inspected. The pond’s embankment was stable and in good condition. <br />There was not any water impounded in the pond. No erosional issues were noted. <br /> <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br /> There was a minor slide at the East Mine to the east of the reclaimed portal bench. The slide had occurred due to <br />the above average late winter and spring precipitation. The slide had been repaired and regraded . Please see the photo <br />below for more details . <br /> <br />Photo 6: The repaired slide was repaired and regraded <br />to the approved AOC. The repaired area will be <br />reseeded in the fall of this year. Since the repairs had <br />been made to the slide, a couple of precipitation <br />events had occur r ed. There were no indications of <br />instability and no erosional features were identified <br />on the repaired area. <br /> <br />
