describe in the text the potential mine disturbance area so that it can be verified
that all Aspen plant communities are not going to be disturbed. (B APPD 1)
Trapper Response to Comment 5: Revised permit Map M48A illustrates the potential mine disturbance
area (enclosed). The potential mine disturbance area on Map M48A is referenced at the end of Appendix D-
VI Section 3.1 (revised page 7 -enclosed).
6. Many plant species were counted as contributing to plant cover in Tables 3, 6
and 9, but not included in Table 1 List of Observed Plant Species. Table 1
clarifies species codes used in the cover data tables and describes the life form
of the plant. Please update Table 1 so all the species that contributed to plant
cover are described in Table 1. If the plant was only identified to the genus, note
that in the table. (B APPD 2)
Trapper Response to Comment 6: Appendix D- VI Table I has been revised as requested and is enclosed.
In addition, Appendix D- VI Table 3 (pages 24 and 25), Table 6 (page 32) and Table 9 (page 40) were
revised to match the correct species codes in Table 1. These revised pages are enclosed. Also enclosed are
revised PAP pages 2-122c through 2-122q. Pages 2-122c through 2-122m (Table 2.3-25) include the plant
species list equivalent to Table 1 in Appendix D- VI. Enclosed pages 2-122n through 2-122q were
repaginated as a result of the Table 2.3-25 additions. Finally, enclosed TOC page i-3 was revised to
reference new page 2-122q.
7. Bromus tectorum a Colorado listed Class C noxious weed is listed in Table 1 as
an introduced annual grass but not noxious. It is also listed in Tables 3, 6 and 9
in the annual/biennial section. Please amend all tables so Bromus tectorum is
counted as a noxious weed. (B APPD3)
Trapper Response to Comment 7: Appendix D -VI page 25 (Table 3), pages 32 and 33 (Table 6) and page
40 (Table 9) have been revised as requested and are enclosed.
Many plant species were counted as contributing to shrub density in Tables 5
and 8 but not included in Table 1 List of Observed Plant Species. Table 1
clarifies species codes used in the cover data tables and describes the life form
of the plant. The species codes required for inclusion in Table 1 are: AMAALN,
RIBAUR and TETGLA. Please update Table 1 so all the species that contributed
to shrub density are described in Table 1. (B APPD 4)
Trapper Response to Comment 8: Appendix D- VI Table I has been revised and is enclosed. While the
AMAALN and RIBA UR codes were added to Table 1, TETGLA was found to be in error and was changed to
TETCAN in Appendix D- VI Table 8 (pages 37 and 38). The revised Table 8 pages are enclosed.
9. In Table 1, Populus tremuloides has the code POPANG. This appears to be a
typo as it does not match the code POPTRE in Table 5. Please correct this typo.
(B APPD 5)
Trapper Response to Comment 9: Appendix D- VI Table 1 has been revised as requested and is enclosed.
