New Elk Coal Company, LLC <br />is the applicant, and its business address is 12250 State Highway 12, Weston Colorado <br />81091. The Golden Eagle Mine is located in Las Animas County, Colorado about 24 <br />miles west of Trinidad Colorado on private land in part of Section 19 of Township 33 <br />South, Range 67 West and located within the USGS 7.5 minute Vigil quadrangle. <br />Currently, there is no physical area associated with the Golden Eagle permit. On July 25, <br />2017, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety approved the transfer of the <br />Golden Eagle Northwest Airshaft reclamation site to the New Elk Mine; permit number <br />C-1981-012. The Northwest Airshaft reclamation site was the only remaining portion of <br />the Golden Eagle Mine permit and the only area covered by the reclamation bond posted <br />for the Golden Eagle permit.
