Historic Properties Treatment Plan, Collom Mine, Colorado 33 <br />will be bagged as a lot for each 1 x 1 -m unit and level (or feature). Each lot of debitage, bone, <br />and other bulk remains will be given a separate field specimen number (P -NUM). All samples <br />will be provenienced to the feature, stratigraphic column, or unit from which they are taken. <br />A detailed site map will be made for each excavated site area, and a photographic record will <br />be made of each site setting, of each excavation block during and after excavation, and of <br />interesting or distinctive features, artifacts, etc., encountered during excavations. Detailed <br />field notes will also be made concerning site setting, microtopography, vegetation, etc. <br />Characterization of the ecological context of each site will be conducted with assistance from <br />a professional biologist. <br />Stratigraphic profiles will be drawn for all excavation block walls at most sites. The degree of <br />consolidation, color, texture, structure, and calcium carbonate content of the sediments in each <br />stratum will be recorded on the field drawings, as will any discernible cultural layers, features, <br />stains, exposed artifacts, and areas of obvious rodent disturbance. <br />All original field notes, field forms, field drawings, maps, photographs and negatives, <br />unprocessed samples, etc., will be stored at TRC Mariah's Laramie office. Collected artifacts <br />from sites on federal land and copies of field forms will be curated at the Museum of Western <br />Colorado. Any collected artifacts from the other sites will be returned to the private landowner. <br />The estimated completion date for the fieldwork is September 30, 2006. <br />5.3 LABORATORY METHODS <br />After completion of the excavations, all recovered cultural material, ancillary samples, and field <br />records will be taken to TRC Mariah's laboratory in Laramie, Wyoming, for processing and <br />analysis. Each tool or point - plotted artifact will be assigned a separate catalog number, while <br />debitage and bone retrieved from the screen will be assigned catalog numbers by lot for each test <br />unit and 10 -cm level. <br />47599 TRC Mariah Associates Inc. <br />
