The P9 Pond was full. The embankments of the pond were well vegetated and in good condition. There were no
indications of instability or erosion. The pond was discharging through the primary spillway into the ditch leading
to the Refuse Pond.

The ditch to the Refuse Pond was flowing during the inspection (Photo 2). There were no areas with seepage or
erosion. The Refuse Pond was impounding water (Photo 3). There was no discharge from the pond. The pond is
designed to contain all of the water transported to it. The embankment was well vegetated and stable. There were
no indications of seepage or erosional issues.

The access road to the mine site is in good condition. There are a couple of spots where water has pond ed
in some minor ruts (Photo 4).

RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
During the inspection Plumeless thistle was identified on the south side of the P9 Pond (Photo 5) and
along the ditch leading to the Refuse Pond. Please continue to follow the approve weed management plan outlined
in the permit.

SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02:
The mine identification signs are located to the right of the entrance to the mine site. The signs display the
correct information about the operator and the Division.

Stream Buffer Zone markers had been placed since the May 2017 special focus/complete inspection (Photo 6).
The signs had been placed in visible areas.
