July 26, 2017 C-1981-025/North Thompson Creek Mine CCW <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />The P9 Pond was full. The embankments of the pond were well vegetated and in good condition. There were no <br />indications of instability or erosion. The pond was discharging through the primary spillway into the ditch leading <br />to the Refuse Pond. <br /> <br />The ditch to the Refuse Pond was flowing during the inspection (Photo 2). There were no areas with seepage or <br />erosion. The Refuse Pond was impounding water (Photo 3). There was no discharge from the pond. The pond is <br />designed to contain all of the water transported to it. The embankment was well vegetated and stable. There were <br />no indications of seepage or erosional issues. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Constr uction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The access road to the mine site is in good condition. There are a couple of spots where water has pond ed <br />in some minor ruts (Photo 4). <br /> <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br /> During the inspection Plumeless thistle was identified on the south side of the P9 Pond (Photo 5) and <br />along the ditch leading to the Refuse Pond. Please continue to follow the approve weed management plan outlined <br />in the permit. <br /> <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification signs are located to the right of the entrance to the mine site. The signs display the <br />correct information about the operator and the Division. <br /> <br />Stream Buffer Zone markers had been placed since the May 2017 special focus/complete inspection (Photo 6). <br />The signs had been placed in visible areas. <br /> <br /> <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): None <br /> <br />
