Tonya Hammond of Snowcap Coal <br />Company, Inc. accompanied the inspection. Eric Eckberg of the Bureau of Land Management also <br />accompanied the inspection. Eric was accompanied by Kyle Turchick, who is an intern with the BLM this <br />summer. The Roadside Portals Mine still retains a small area of land that is owned by the bureau of Land <br />Management. <br /> <br />The weather was warm and slightly cloudy. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records are kept in the J.E. Stover and associates office in Grand Junction. Records were checked in <br />the afternoon of 7/18, after the on-the-ground inspection. Records were complete and up to date. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Chukkars could be heard in the brush around Substation B. <br /> <br />A Collared lizard was encountered along the reclaimed road to CRDA 1. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Diversions 4.05.4; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> No ponds remain on site. All ponds have been reclaimed. A portion of reclaimed pond 11 is subject to <br />bond release SL10. Reclaimed pond 11 was in good condition and perennial vegetation is becoming <br />established. Surface water drainage from the remaining reclaimed areas show no sign of rilling or gullying and <br />passes through vegetated areas. <br /> <br />Outfall 002 was discharging 260 gpm. Tonya had collected a water quality sample of 7/17. <br />
