Feasibility Analysis - Agency Notes: Due to the complexity associated with this type of
project, potential for off-site road impacts to County Road 124, and limited project information
provided, this is a cursory review at best. When the applicant decides to proceed with the
preparation of a Class II permit application, Public Works staff would be available to meet with
applicant and their engineer to discuss additional information that will be required to evaluate
the projects off-site impacts and possible mitigation measures if required.
The driveway permit issued in 2014 was for the construction of the access road
improvements. As noted on that permit, a driveway access permit would be
required for the future permitted land use that would accommodate the actual
mining operation. Also as noted at that time "That may also require a traffic study
or at a minimum an estimate of average daily traffic generated by the land use, and
can be applied for during the land use permit process."
•:* It is advisable for the applicant to consider consulting with a professional traffic
engineer to determine if estimated traffic volumes will meet or exceed warrants for
turn lane improvements on County Road 124, and if the increase in equivalent
single axle load (ESAL) impacts from ore trucks has the potential to adversely
impact county road 124.
Since this operation will genera commercia * dustrial truck traffic,
applicant should consult with lanning Department o potential land use
compatibility issues and pos ble mitigation measures s as but not limited to
limits on days and or hours o operation.
I1
