July 18, 2017 C-1981-020/Munger Canyon Mine JHB

Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1

No problems were noted with drainage off the reclaimed areas.

GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
The only maintenance item noted was continue with noxious weed control. Species noted Perennial
pepperweed (Lepidium latifolium) and Jointed goatgrass (Aegilops cylindrica) which are both on the State Noxious
Weed B list and require control.

ROADS – Rule 4.03
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The remaining ranch road up Munger Canyon remains in fair condition and is drivable. The creek
crossing was dry and able to be crossed with the vehicles. The gate at the Salt Creek Bridge was locked
appropriately. Salt Creek was dry at the bridge.

RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
Vegetation continues to fill in on the reseeded topsoil stockpile footprint on the north side of the access
road. Perennial grasses are becoming established in this area. Perennial pepperweed, a noxious weed, is
becoming established along the perimeters of the reseeded topsoil area. CAM needs to enact weed co ntrol on
these plants. On the south side of the access road in the reclaimed pond and material storage area, Jointed
goatgrass is present. It is present in areas that had previously been mulched with straw mulch. Due to the limited
area where the mulch was, and the goatgrass seems confined to the mulched area, it appears that the this noxious
weed came in with the mulch. Jointed goatgras is a winter annual and best treated in the fall. It is recommended
that CAM Mining consult with the local County Weed agent for the best treatment for this species. Seeded
perennial species are becoming established in this area as well.

The reclaimed haul road to the reclaimed portal and fan was walked. The vegetation on the reclaimed roadway
remains excellent. Perennial pepperweed individual plants were noted sporadically all the way to the portal area.
Other than Cheatgrass and Perennial pepperweed, few other weed species were encountered. The established
vegetation community remains in excellent condition with excellent diversity.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER (SPECIFY) NA

ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
