The inspection was conducted by <br />Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Basil Bear of Bowie Resources, <br />LLC. was present for the inspection of the East Mine. The weather was partly cloudy during the inspection with a <br />tempurature of 85 degrees farenheight. There was intermitant rain during trhe last half hour of the inspection. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the Bowie No. 1 Mine are kept at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office with Basil Bear. The <br />records were well kept and in good condition. Please see the Availability of Records form attached to the end <br />of this report for more details. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> There are two ponds located at the West Mine, the W-1 and W-2 Ponds. Both of the ponds were dry <br />during the inspection. The embankments of W-1 and W-2 are well vegetated and stable. There were no <br />indications of erosion. <br /> <br />There are five ponds at the East Mine, Bin Wall Ponds 1 through 4 and the West Ridge Pond (Photo 1). During <br />the inspection all four of the Bin Wall Ponds were observed to be dry. The embankments of the ponds had no <br />indications or erosion or instability. The discharge outlets were clear of debris and capable of functioning as <br />designed. <br /> <br />The ROM Pile (Timber Storage Area) has one pond. The pond’s embankments were well vegetated and stable . <br />There were no issues noted. The pond was dry during the inspection. <br /> <br />There are two ponds associated with the Paonia Loadout. Both of the ponds were dry. The embankments of the
