permits have current disturbances of far greater area than that which is planned on the Sullivan
Aggregate Pit.
Fifth, there are no know threatened or endangered species habitats within the proposed
disturbance area.
Minin Area 3 within the Residential Zone District
It is correct that the southern portion of Mining Area 3 is within the designated residential
zoning. This is an area of 3.73 acres and has not been disturbed at all for anything to do with the
mining operation. The only disturbance that exists on this site is the access road to the house that
pre -dated the permitted mining operation. It is fully understood that before any new disturbance
can take place on this area, the zoning must be changed. There is no intention to disturb any of
this 3.73 acres for at least 10 years, since the operation is relatively small, and there are
considerable areas which will be mined before this is mined.
On Site Sewaae Disposal
For any activity on the south side of the River, the sewage disposal in the toilet facility in the
home will be adequate. This includes an engineered septic tank and leach field. For activity north
of the River, an approved porto-potty will be used through a contract company that will pick up
and replace the porto-potty as needed.
Solid Waste Management
There is no solid waste produced on site. The operation uses water and electricity produced from
generators for the sluice operation. The fuel for the generators is added from fuel trucks and
there are no waste fuel containers on site. Any minor trash from meals or other minor activity
will be taken off site individually or taken to the County landfill
Existing or Proposed Signs
There is a mine sign at the PIatte Drive entrance and the entrance from Highway 9. The signs are
of durable construction and show the name of the operation, permittee name, address, DRMS
permit number and phone number of the permittee.
CDOT Access Permit
This permit will be supplied to you ASAP since the mine copy has disappeared and we have to
get a copy from CDOT.
