19. The cost estimate provided in Exhibit E states there will be six pit excavations which will be 25 feet by
35 feet by 6 feet deep. Information provided in Exhibit C states the maximum depth of a pit will be 30
feet deep as well as the engineering comments regarding 20 feet deep. Please clarify this discrepancy.
Response: Please see attached revised Exhibit E—Reclamation Plan, 6.3.4(2)
Exhibit E—Reclamation Plan, 6.3.4(2)now states that the number of dig sites will not exceed
6 at any one time. The depth of the pits is not to exceed 20 feet.Their specific sizes and
locations will be subject to the mineral direction of trend and depth.
The total volume of all stockpiled material is not to exceed 2000 cubic yards.
EXHIBIT E—Map(Rule 6.3.5)
20. The Exhibit E Mining Plan Map Detail 1 map depicts the permit boundary as well as a 3.5 acre area
identified as Permit Affected Area Boundary. Please note, in accordance with Rule 6.3.5(2)(a),the
Division considers the area bounded by the permit boundary to be analogous to the affected area for all
110 Limited Impact Operations. Please discuss this Permit Affected Area. This line will need to be
renamed or removed to reduce confusion because affected area is a defined term in the Rules. Please
also discuss the discrepancy between the 3.5 acres identified on the map and the 5 acres of maximum
disturbance at one time as discussed in the Exhibit C Mining Plan.
Response: The line identified as Permit Affected Area Boundary show on Exhibit E—Mining Plan Map,
Detail 1 was originally created and shown as part of our Forest Service MPO. It was requested
to help the Forest Service identify the area that we initially plan to stay within. It will be used
by the Forest Service so they know where to monitor reclamation work. It was requested to be
shown as 3.5 (rather than 5 acres) so that before any lands outside of the 3.5 acre boundary
(AKA Initial Disturbance Limits)were disturbed, the Forest Service would be notified. They
would then inspect the 3.5 acre site, evaluate existing reclamation work areas including
seeding and reseeding efforts. They would then determine if we would be able to proceed to
mine on other areas within the DRMS 9.9 acre permit boundary.
This line has now been removed from Exhibit E—Mining Plan Map Detail 1.
