Yeldell
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman, St., Suite 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mrs. Yeldell:
RE: Silt Pit, Permit # M-1981-202SG
Technical Revision - 06
This Technical Revision was prepared in response to your
inspection report dated March 3, 2017. In the inspection report
the Division requested we file Technical Revision to correct the
amount of disturbance allowed, revise the maximum length of
highwall allowed before back sloping and remove the Russian Olive
trees from the Reclamation Plan. We are also presenting a
revised Reclamation Cost Estimate to include the additional
highwall grading and dewatering for the east lake area.
MAXIMUM DISTURBANCE AREA
Review of the most recent air photos of the site we find
there is approximately 46 acres of disturbed area above what
would be water if mining ended now. Some of this 46 acres is
partially reclaimed bu shaping, and resoiled but would need to be
revegetated. This is mostly caused because of the large amount
of area backfilled on the southeast side of the mine. At the
current time the permit allows for 40 acres above water distur-
bance so we need to increase the maximum allowable disturbance to
50 acres. We believe that from now on the amount of surface area
disturbance will decrease as we finish mining the Plant Site.
