May 17, 2017 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine CCW <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The access road at the Paonia Loadout was in good repair. The paved portion of the road turns to dirt <br />shortly after the entrance from Highway 133. The dirt portion of the access road was in good repair. There were <br />no areas with ponded water or ruts. <br /> <br />The Haul Road at the East Mine was in good condition. No erosional issues were observed. No issues on the <br />access road from the Haul Road to the Bin Wall Ponds was observed. <br /> <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br /> Noted in the March and April 2017 inspection reports, there is a minor slide at the East Mine. The slide <br />occurred on the slope to the east of the reclaimed office/bath house bench. The slide is relatively minor in size and <br />did not appear to have moved significantly since the April inspection (Photo 5). The conditions at the time of the <br />March and April inspections were not dry enough yet to allow for repairs. The area appears to have less ground <br />moisture since the previous spring inspections. Repairs to the slide will be conducted when equipment can access <br />the area. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> The Paonia Loadout continues to serve and an equipment lay-down area for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The <br />vehicles have been transported from the site, equipment and spare parts now remain at the loadout. No off site <br />impacts were observed. <br /> <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02: <br /> Mine identification signs are located at the entrance to the Paonia Loadout, the East Mine and the West <br />Mine. The signs display the correct information about the permitee and the Division. <br /> <br /> <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): None <br /> <br />
