The inspection was accompanied by <br />Scott Wanstedt of BME. <br /> <br />The longwall continues in panel LW-B14 near County Road 65 and no coal trains were being loaded at the time of <br />the inspection. Currently, the Deserado Mine has no permitting actions on-going. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The DP-1 Pond was impounding water and discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment was <br />stable and well vegetated. The emergency and primary spillways were in compliance with no problems noted at <br />the time of the inspection. <br />Pond PP-1 is a concrete pond that was holding water and stable at the time of the inspection. <br />Pond PP-2 contained water with no discharge noted. Embankments were stable and well vegetated with no <br />problems noted. A heavy amount of algae was not on the surface, with no negative effect on the pond noted. <br />Construction continues on the D-Seam dewatering system #2. The area of the Pond #3 embankment is near <br />completion with construction on0-going in the areas of Pond 35 and Pond #4. Construction continues in <br />accordance with the approved designs.
