The site inspection occurred on 4/25/2017,
with the records check conducted in the office of J. E. Stover on 4/26/2017. The mine is in temporary cessation.
As such the access is through locked gates, and no personnel are on site.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
Mine Records are stored in Grand Junction at the office of J.E. Stover and assoc. Records were up to date
and complete.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10;;
Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The sediment pond was holding a shallow pool of water several feet below the discharge riser. There was
no evidence of any recent discharge from the pond. The water in the pond was clear. Previously identified animal
burrows on the outslope of the embankment have been filled and packed. No new holes were identified. This
repair is acceptable.A patch of Whitetop (Cardaria draba) is present on the pond embankment that needs to be
controlled. A large tamarisk has established on the embankment near the metal walkway to the riser. This
tamarisk is under the cottonwood. Tamarisk is a troublesome noxious weed and needs to be eliminated from the
embankment.
Ditches at the portal area are clear and functioning well. Ditch D-2 has recently been cleaned of material that had
sloughed off the hillside over the winter. This ditch is clear and functional. Ditch D-10-1 has an accumulation of
debris as the ditch comes out of the canyon and before the runoff flows to the sediment pond. This corner requires
cleanout to minimize the potential for flow to breach the ditch and flow down the road.
Culverts A,D,G,1,H,J and P were clear of debris and functioning well.
REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 2 of 7
