Mr. Peter Hays, DRMS
May 3,2017
(e) The investigation is currently in progress to determine the cause of the leak. Excavation
and repair will begin after a proper utility locate is completed. The pipe is a 6" line buried
approximately nine feet below ground surface.
At present, once the area is excavated, the condition of the line will be assessed. Site
engineers are anticipating a failed valve at the base of the hydrant as the cause of this
event. Henderson has a new hydrant and valve onsite to replace any compromised
equipment once the excavation is complete. Further evaluation of the line condition will
be assessed while the excavation is in progress.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 720-942-3518 or
Miguel Hamarat at 720-942-3255.
Sincerely,
✓lit,— f
Tim Haynes
Chief Environmental Scientist
Climax Molybdenum Company
Henderson Operations
CC (via email):
M.
