PHASE D: Mr. Fisher has reevaluated the post mining use of his land and has determined that
he would like to see Phase D reclaimed to include a large pond in the southern portion. The
pond will impound water for wildlife, livestock and irrigation. Mr. Fisher owns water rights from
the Los Pinos River. This along with storm water will supply the pond. Los Pinos water will be
pumped from the river via a hardline to the new pond. The water right allows him access to his
pump site at the river on the neighboring property. It also allows the hard line to traverse the
neighboring property and enter his property.
The pond will be constructed in the south eastern half of Phase D. CAS will re-slope the south,
east and west portions of the southern half of Phase D to a maximum of a 3:1 slope. The
northern portion of the pond will be re-sloped to include 3:1 and 4:1 slopes this will allow
onsite Stormwater to enter as well as to accommodate the waterline.
A minimum of 2' of reserved overburden will be placed on slopes and pond bottom. The top of
the slopes will be re-graded to tie in to the native surface and to reduce erosion.
A minimum of 6" of topsoil shall be placed on all slopes along the pond.
The northern half of Phase D will be reclaimed by pulling stockpiled overburden across the site
at a minimum depth of 1-2'. Slopes will be 4:1 and the site will slope slightly to the south overall
to allow Stormwater to enter the new pond.
All slopes and the entire north portion of Phase D will be reseeded with the same seed mix as in
Phase A. BMP's shall be placed to reduce erosion on newly reclaimed areas. Onsite Stormwater
shall be routed to the pond. SCL's shall be placed to collect sediment before entering the pond.
Offsite stormwater flows will not be changed and will continue to enter the natural drainage
north of Phase D.
An area midway along the western boundary will remain as an overburden and topsoil storage
area. BMP's will be placed at the toe of the storage piles and piles will be managed to reduce
erosion.
The scale house will remain south of the storage area until final mine reclamation.
The Mr. Fisher has expressed that the mine road that enters from US Highway 172 is to remain
post mining as a farm road. This road was originally recognized in the permit to be reclaimed
post mining. CAS asks that the road be remove for the Bond amount.
