TECHNICAL REVISION
M-92-054 (112 operation)
La Boca Pit
March 20, 2017
Submitted by; Deb Koenig, Reg Compliance Mgr, Crossfire Aggregate Services LLC (CAS)
For Todd Fisher, Landowner
Crossfire Aggregate Services is requesting a Technical Revision to the reclamation plan on
behalf of the landowner,Todd Fisher. Mr. Fisher is requesting to amend the reclamation plans
for Phase D and Phase A of the mining plan. This request is based on an improved resource
management plan for land use post-mining and cleaning up after a previous unapproved mining
operation by another operator. Below are the revision requests for each phase.
PHASE A: Prior to CAS leasing the mine property unauthorized mining had taken place in Phase
A of the mining plan. Recycled concrete was also hauled in to this area and stock piled. This
area was never reclaimed by the previous mine operator.
Concrete will be broken into manageable pieces, steel reinforcement will be bent to eliminate
migration to the surface. Concrete pieces with steel reinforcement will be carefully placed steel
side down to also eliminate migration to the surface. All concrete will be buried at a minimum
depth of 3'.
CAS will reclaim the area east and southeast of the Hydro-Vac pit. The Hydro-vac pit shall
remain. Reclamation will consist of re-sloping to tie into the surrounding native area by pulling
native material from the southwest and east to construct slopes of no more than 3:1. Slopes
will be reshaped in an inconsistent rolling hill manner to mimic the native surrounding area and
to reduce erosion. A minimum of 6"of topsoil will be placed over all these disturbed areas.
Stormwater will be controlled onsite by placement of diversion ditches and Stormwater BMP's.
A Stormwater catchment will be placed onsite to collect Stormwater and sediment from the
disturbed area. Diversion ditches will be constructed around the northern perimeter to prevent
offsite flows from entering the newly reclaimed area.
The site will be reseeded with a mix of Crested Wheat at 7.5 Ibs/acre PLS and Western Wheat
4.8 Ibs/acre PLS.A cover crop of Annual Wheatgrass will be added at 10 Ibs/acre PLS.This will
be used to assist in site stabilization and to reduce weed growth.
Weed infestation will be managed by application of herbicides and mechanical mowing.
All work will be performed by mechanical means using dozers, excavators and haul trucks
where necessary.
