CAUTION <br />Disconnecting the main power during the process will stop the vacuum <br />pump. With residual heat in the furnace, water and mercury vapour may <br />still be produced, which potentially can leak though the door seal. If an <br />uncontrollable high temperature runaway occurs, disconnect the main <br />power. Remove the two power leads at the output of the SCRs in the SCR <br />panel, or at the retort splitter box, whichever is more convenient. <br />Insulate the leads and close the panel. Reconnect the main power and <br />start the vacuum pump. Allow the furnace to cool before any repairs are <br />initiated. All electrical work must be completed by a qualified electrician <br />after electrical lockout procedures have been carried out. <br />23
