1.5.1 Initial Curing Instructions <br />The retort should be heated up gradually on initial start up to remove excess moisture from <br />the refractory of the electric furnace. The furnace refractory may be cured using the local <br />HMI manual overrides as suggested below. <br />The curing cycle should be completed only after all other necessary installation and <br />assembly has been completed. <br />It is highly recommended that the curing cycle be completed on start-up by a qualified <br />Lochhead Haggerty engineer. <br />Table 1- CURING CYCLE <br />TOTAL DURATION: Approximately 28 hours <br />Allow to cool to room temperature at a normal rate.
