March 29, 2017 C-1981-020/Munger Canyon Mine JHB <br />has established excellent vegetation, with no signs of erosional features in this steep environment. The surface of <br />the reclaimed road continue to be very rough with numerous pockets and microclimates. This method of <br />reclamation along with appropriate seed mix has resulted in excellent reclamation of the road. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Early season grasses and forbs are beginning to emerge that appear to be winter annual grass (cheatgrass) <br />and annual mustards. Perennial species are still present in the reclaimed sediment pond as associated topsoil <br />stockpile footprint area, but soil temperatures do not appear warm enough to see new growth on the perennial <br />species as yet. The mulch remains well anchored. Numerous small shrub species have emerged in this area. No <br />problems were identified in this location. <br />Although no large ungulates were observed during the inspection, numerous areas of deer scat was observed along <br />the reclaimed haul road. Ground squirrels and numerous song birds were observed in Munger Canyon. Coyote <br />scat was noted as well. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />The mine id sign is posted on the gate on the bridge over Salt Creek. The gate was open at the time of the <br />inspection.
