March 30, 2017 C-1981-041/Roadside Portals JHB

Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3

Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation throughout the area is beginning to green up since the area has received a small amount of
precipitation and temperatures are warming up. Early species identified seem to consist of annual mustards, red
stem filaree and Cheatgrass. Ample perennial species persist in the reclaimed areas. These perennial species tend
to green up a little later in the season. Other than the red stem filaree, Cheatgrass, and occasional Halogeton
(mostly dead), noxious species were not problematic.

SUBSIDENCE – Rule 4.20:
Mine subsidence has been the subject of concern in Section 34. This property overlies a portion of the
Roadside mine South Portals that was room and pillar and retreat mined, Mine plan map (Exhibit 5). This area
was mined early during the mining process.

This area is the subject of hydrologic communication, and objections to TR69 proposed repairs.

The inspector also observed several surface holes located in Section 26 R98W, T10S. These holes have been
staked by the land owner and tend to line up in roughly linear alignment. These holes are relatively small on the
surface and do not extend more than a couple of feet into the ground before material has sloughed in and sealed
them. Animals have also taken advantage of this looser material to dig burrows in.

SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has made positive progress on construction of the shooting range.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER (SPECIFY) NA
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
