FORREST MINING PROJECT
HARD ROCK / METAL MINING
LIMITED IMPACT OPERATION ( 110 (2) )
RECLAMATION PERMIT APPLICATION
6.3.3 EXHIBIT C— MINING PLAN
6.3.3 (1) (a) The estimated date that the mining will commence is June 1, 2017 and will
continue for 5 years. An additional year may be required for reseeding in some
areas. The mining work will be done between May and November each year as
the weather conditions permit. This operation is not intended to be an
intermittent operation. If the operations are to continue beyond 5 years, a
request for continuance will be submitted to the DRMS.
6.3.3 (1) (b) The estimated depth to which soil, suitable as a plant growth medium, which will
be salvaged for use in the reclamation process is minimal to non-existent. The
topsoil and fine grained soils will be salvaged and stockpiled on site adjacent to
the excavated areas and will be used for reclamation. if the topsoil stockpiles are
not replaced by the end of the annual mining season, they will be seeded to
prevent erosion.
6.3.3 (1) (c) The thickness of overburden or quantity of waste rock to be removed to reach
the deposit will vary depending on the elevation depth of the pegmatites lode.
Overburden will be stockpiled separately from the topsoil. It will be placed as
close to the excavated areas as possible. Efforts will be made to prevent the
material from moving downslope.
6.3.3 (1) (d) The thickness of the deposit to be mined will vary depending on the depth of the
pegmatites lode. The maximum depth will not exceed 30 feet from the original
surface.
6.3.3 (1) (e) The major components of the mining operation are minimal. There will be 3-6 pit
excavations with access routes. No shop/maintenance buildings or other
structures will be constructed on the site. See Exhibit E.
6.3.3 (1) (f) The disturbances to the land surface by the pit excavations as well as lands in the
reclamation process will not exceed 5 Acres at any one time. The total mining
disturbance over the life of the operation will not exceed 9.9 acres. Safety
fencing will be erected around open excavations that surpass 3 feet in depth.
The work area around the excavation will be benched to accommodate
Page 1 of 2
