March 28, 2017 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine CCW <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br />- Ponds 1 (Photo 2), 2, 3 and 4, as well as, the West Ridge Pond were inspected at the East Mine. All of the ponds <br />inspected at the East Mine were dry. The embankments of Ponds 1, 2, 3 and 4 were stable and in good condition. <br />The embankments of the West Ridge Pond were well vegetated and there were no indications of erosion. <br /> <br />- The ditch that parallels the Main Access and Haul Road at the East Mine was in good repair. The dich had been <br />recently cleaned and was capable of functioning as designed. There was not any water flowing in the ditch during <br />the inspection. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The Haul Road at the East Mine was in good condition at the time of the inspection. There were no ruts or <br />areas where water had ponded. No issues were noted. The access roads at the loadout were in good repair, no <br />issues were noted. <br /> <br />SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12: <br /> During the inspection of the East Mine, a recent slide was observed (Photos 3 & 4). The slide is minor <br />in size but will be closely monitored to ensure that it does not become severe. The slide is located to the east of <br />the reclaimed mine portal bench. Displacement is only about 1-2 feet laterally. At the top of the slide a surface <br />crack was noted. The crack is about 1 1/2 deep and about 6 to 10 inches wide. Repairs to the slide area will be <br />conducted once dry ground conditions exist. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br /> The Bowie No. 1 Loadout is used for material storage from the Bowie No.2 Mine. The loadout is in good <br />condition and no off-site impacts were observed (Photo 5). The north side clear water ditch was free of debris and <br />capable of functioning as designed. The ditch was damp at the time of the inspection. <br /> <br /> <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): None <br /> <br />
