COMMENTS
This was a completel coal inspection conducted by Jason Musick of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and
Safety. The weather was clear and the ground dry with wet areas throughout at the time of the inspection. A small
amount of snow cover existed. The inspection was accompanied by Scott Wanstedt of BME.
The longwall was mining in panel LW -B 14 near County Road 65 and no coal trains were being loaded at the time
of the inspection. Currently, the proposed decision for SR -3 is in a public comment period.

The DP -1 Pond was impounding water with no discharge noted. The pond embankments were stable and well
vegetated. The emergency and primary spillways were in compliance with no problems noted at the time of the
inspection.
Pond PP -1 is a concrete pond that was holding water and stable at the time of the inspection.
Pond PP -2 contained water with no discharge noted. Embankments were stable and well vegetated with no
problems noted.
The fresh water lagoon contained water and was stable with no problems noted at the time of the inspection.
Pond RP -1 was damp at the time of the inspection. Embankments were stable and well vegetated at the time of the
inspection. The primary and emergency spillways were in compliance with no problems noted.
Pond RP -2/3 was impounding water in the upper cells and the lower cell at the time of the inspection. No
discharge was noted. The embankments were stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection.
Pond RP -4 contained water with no discharge at the time of the inspection. The pond embankments were stable.
No problems were noted with the spillways at the time of the inspection.
