2.05.3
Gunnison River. The D -Seam mine portals are located about 800 feet
above old State Highway 133 at an elevation of approximately 6880 feet
where the D-2 Seam outcrops. The B -Seam mine portals will be located
about 550 feet above old State Highway 133 at an elevation of approximately
6630 feet. The loadout is located along the mainline of the Union Pacific
Railroad at an elevation of approximately 5880 feet. The surface facilities
consist of sediment control structures, coal handling facilities, unit train
loadout, support facilities for mine operations and other related facilities.
(3)(a) Following is a discussion of the proposed mine facilities:
Portal Conveyor Transfer Buildings
The D -Seam portal conveyor transfer building is a structural steel building
where the main belt from the mine terminates. The coal from the mine will
transfer to the stockpile conveyor. Gob conveyed from the mine will be
transferred to the gob belt. The dimensions of the building are approximately
20 feet by 24 feet by 45 feet high. The B -Seam will have a similar transfer
building. Gob conveyed from the B -Seam will be transferred via a steel
chute to a concrete gob bin. Coal conveyed from the B -Seam is transferred
to the uphill conveyor.
Stacking Tube
The raw coal is stacked by this concrete tube to minimize coal segregation
and air particulate emissions. The tube is approximately 85 -feet high and
12 -feet in diameter. It has 4 foot openings to allow coal to flow from the tube
to the stockpile area. The stacking tube is located directly on the reclaim
tunnel.
Reclaim Tunnel
The reclaim tunnel is located under the stacking tube and a 70,000 ton
stockpile. It is of reinforced concrete construction. The typical inside
dimensions of the tunnel are 13 feet high by 12 feet wide. The tunnel is
approximately 245 feet long. A 36 -inch diameter escape tube is located on
the east end of the tunnel. The 120 foot long escape tube terminates at a
concrete fan housing that is approximately 6 feet by 6 feet by 8 feet high.
Screen and Crusher Building
The screen and crusher building is a structural steel building that is
approximately 52 feet high. The building houses a double deck screen and
crusher. It has the capability of producing 2"x0" crushed coal and stoker
sized coal. The dimensions of the building are approximately 40 feet by 21
feet by 52 feet high.
TR -76 2.05-13- 12/26/12
