Slowly add 5.7ml of <br /> anhydrous(glacial) acetic acid and 64.3ml 1.00M sodium hydroxide solution. <br /> Bring volume to 1000ml with DI water and mix thoroughly. When prepared <br /> properly, the pH should be 4.93±0.05. <br /> 6.2. Extraction Fluid #2 <br /> 6.2.1. Add 500ml of DI water to a 1000ml volumetric flask. Add 5.7ml anhydrous <br /> (glacial) acetic acid. Bring volume to 1000ml with DI water and mix thoroughly. <br /> When prepared properly the pH should be 2.88+0.05. <br /> 6.3. Hydrochloric Acid Solution, 1 N HCI <br /> 6.3.1. Add 500mL DI water into a 1000mL volumetric flask. Slowly add 82.64mL <br /> concentrated (12.1 M) hydrochloric acid and swirl to mix. Allow the solution to <br /> equilibrate to room temperature and bring to volume with DI water. <br /> 6.4.
