In order to receive a Phase II bond release, the reclaimed areas cannot contribute
suspended solids to stream flow runoff outside the permit area in excess of pre -mining
levels. The following pages demonstrate that the reclaimed areas are contributing
fewer suspended solids than the adjacent areas. A summary of the results for each
reclaimed area is shown below. A detailed description of factor derivation and the full
calculations begins on page 4.
Pond 11
SOIL LOSS CALCULATION
AREA
R
K
LS
C
P
A
Adjacent Pond 11
30
0.24
0.38
0.194
1.0
0.52
Pond 11 Reclaimed
30
0.24
0.23 0.192
1.0
0.32
It can be seen from the above calculation that reclaimed Pond 11 may lose about 0.32
tons per acre per year to erosion. The Pond 11 adjacent area which represents the
baseline conditions may lose 0.52 tons per acre per year. Based on this demonstration,
reclaimed Pond 11 is not contributing suspended solids in excess of pre -mining levels.
G Substation
SOIL LOSS CALCULATION
AREA
R
K
LS
C
P
A
Adjacent Area -G Substation
30
0.24
4.63
0.192
1.0
16.41
G Substation Reclaimed
30
0.24
3.126
0.194
1.0 4.36
It can be seen from the above calculation that the revegetated areas at the G -Substation
may lose about 4.36 tons per acre per year to erosion. The G -Substation adjacent area,
which represents the baseline conditions, may lose 6.41 tons per acre per year. Based
on this demonstration. G Substation is not contributing suspended solids in excess of
re -mining levels.
SL -10 Tab -7, Page 2 03/06/2017
