EXHIBIT L WORST CASE RECLAMATION SCENARIO
The worst case scenario of reclamation at the Fairplay Au Pit will take place at the beginning of
Phase 2. At this point in the mine's life it can be assumed that at least half of Phase 1 and a portion
of Phase 2 will need to be topsoiled. The active excavation pit will need to be regraded to 3H:1 V
slopes or shallower. Backfilling of the bottom five feet may be needed to ensure groundwater is
buried.
All of the disturbed area onsite will need to be reseeded.
The worst case reclamation tasks are outlined below.
1. Backfill active excavation to two feet above water table. 340' x 340' x 5' = 21,407 CY @
$1.25/CY to haul and place = $26,759
2. Regrade upper portions of active excavation to 31-1: 1 V. 1360' x 2500 sq. ft. = 35,978 CY @
$0.40/CY = $50,370
3. Place topsoil equivalent on all disturbed areas (50% of Phase 1 = 15 acres) to an average
depth of 8 inches. 18,150 CY @ $1.25 to haul and place = $22,687
4. Seeding and mulching all disturbed areas. 15 acres @ $700/acre = $10,500
Based on these costs, and a 28% DRMS cost factor, the total bond for the Fairplay Au Pit should be
$141,204.
Worst case reclamation costs for this scenario are shown in Table L -I below:
Fairplay A u Pit March 2 017 cnz UwkU aW Anea,m n.0
