17. A 15- 20 foot buffer area around the permitted mining operations boundary fence line.
6.4.5 Exhibit E- Reclamation Plan
18. Answered below.
Reclamations will occur simultaneously when mining proceeds to past the 20+/-acres
open, reclamation of the 10+/-acres will begin to the extent possible.
19-21. The final slopes of the area to be reclaimed will be regraded to be no steeper than 3:1
utilizing dozer, loaders and motor graders prior to topsoil placement. The drainage at
the pit will drain to the East. As the phases of the gravel operations are completed the
areas to have reclamation started will be final graded, stockpiled topsoil (No Peat Moss
mixed) will be spread over the affected area for reclamation. The area will be reseeded
by hand or automated spreader using Park County Approved Seed mix (attached),
fertilized and hand spread or automated spreader to apply mulch using weed free straw
application rate of 2 tons per acre (one 74 pound bale per 800 SF) track anchoring
method to be used.
22. The depth of the excavation will be approximately 15 feet unless ground water level if
ground water is encountered. If ground water is encountered the depth will be adjusted
to mine above the ground water levels.
6.4.6 Exhibit F—Reclamation Plan Map
23-25 Changes have been completed and attached.
6.4.7 Water Information Exhibit G
26. Answered below.
27. The pre-mine site consists of mainly rangeland fields in the mine pit area. The ground
water table in this area is at approximately+/- 15 feet. Two wells in or near Section 14
near the proposed gravel pit area were used to confirm the +/- 15 feet ground water
table depth. (Well reports attached)
28-29. Planned mining operation should not affect the ground water or surface water in this
area. If during the mining operations encounter ground water the mining depths will be
adjusted to mine above this level.
30. The mining operation will not utilize water for gravel processing so no water sources or
NPDES permits will be required for this gravel operation.
31. Colorado Parks and Wildlife to submit narrative stating that this previous requirement is
no longer in effect as Kline Ranch is utilized for the grazing of elk.
