parallels existing roads, pits, and overburden stockpiles. All road crossings are designed with a minimum
of 60 foot clearance to the lowest conductor.
After the new line is in place, the portion of the existing line that sites within the Globe Hill footprint will
be removed (Figure 1). A total of 10 power poles and 2,876 feet of power line will be removed while the
rest of the line will stay intact. The Ironclad side of the line that will be left in place will continue to be
used but powered by the proposed powerline. The Cripple Creek side of the line that will be left in place
will continue to feed all other customers and will be available up to the CR82/CR821 intersection for
future use.
Schedule
Construction of access and pole pads is scheduled to commence in March 2017 and will be followed by
pole and line placement. Weather permitting, the installation, commissioning, and energizing of the new
line and demolition of the old powerline is expected to be completed by the end of April 2017. Due to the
short period of time when both new and existing power poles will be in place pending demolition
commencement, CC&V commits to provide DRMS with a written notice upon project finalization and
removal of the 10 power poles.
Financial Warrant
CC&V used the 2017 RS Means costs for calculating the increase in reclamation cost. Since the project
consists of the installation of 30 power poles followed by a subsequent removal of 10 power poles,
Newmont has calculated the warranty increase of a total of 20 power poles as agreed with DRMS via
phone on February 8, 2016. The RS Means estimate for "Selective Demolition, utility poles & cross arms,
wood", (2017 RSMeans #024113800200) is $253.50 per pole for a total bond increase of $5,070.
A copy of this submission will be sent to Teller County as a No -Impact Technical Revision under Section
8.A.2 for the Teller County Land Use Regulations, Appendix A, Cripple Creek Mining Overlay District.
Enclosed please find check no. 200027070 in the amount of $1,006 for the technical revision fee.
