Section 03300 Cast — In — Place Concrete <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />A. This Section covers cast -in-place concrete, including furnishing materials, transporting, <br />placing, finishing, curing, and other appurtenant items of construction. <br />B. Inform Engineer at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of time and places at which <br />Contractor intends to place concrete. <br />1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Reference Standards. <br />1. Except as noted or modified in this Section, all concrete materials, transporting, <br />placing, finishing, and curing shall conform to the requirements of the following <br />standard specifications. <br />a. Federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and ordinances. <br />b. American Concrete Institute Standards (ACI). <br />1) 301 Specifications for Structural Concrete for Buildings. <br />2) 304 Guide for Measuring, Mixing, Transporting, and Placing Concrete. <br />3) 304.2 Placing Concrete by Pumping Methods. <br />4) 305 Hot -Weather Concreting. <br />5) 306 Cold -Weather Concreting. <br />6) 309 Guide for Consolidation of Concrete. <br />7) 318 Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete. <br />8) 211.1 Standard Practice for Selecting Proportions for Normal, Heavyweight, <br />and Mass Concrete. <br />9) 229 Controlled Low Strength Materials <br />10) 546 Concrete Repair Guide <br />c. Portland Cement Association, (PCA). <br />d. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). <br />B. Contractor shall keep at least one (1) copy of above listed ACI publications, latest <br />edition, in the project field office at all times. <br />C. In case of conflict or disagreement between codes, standards, laws, ordinances, rules, and <br />regulations or within any document itself, the more stringent conditions as determined by <br />the Engineer shall govern. <br />D.
