1. Straight; uniform width and thickness; free from knots, offsets, holes, dents, and other <br />surface defects. <br />F. Chamfer Strips. <br />1. Clean, white pine; surface against concrete planned. <br />G. Form Ties. <br />1. Permanently embedded body type, with removable 1 -inch breakbacks, and cones on <br />outer ends. <br />2. Sufficient strength and rigidity to support and maintain the form in proper position and <br />alignment without the use of auxiliary spreaders. <br />3. Permanently embedded type without threaded ends shall be so constructed so that <br />removable ends are readily broken off (one inch (1 ") back from concrete surface) <br />without damage to the concrete. <br />4. Form ties in exposed surfaces shall be uniformly spaced and aligned in horizontal and <br />vertical rows. <br />5. Water stop ties: For water -holding structures, basements, pipe galleries, and <br />accessible spaces below finish grade, furnish one of the following: <br />a. Integral steel water stop 0.103 -inch thick and 0.625 -inch in diameter tightly and <br />continuously welded to tie. <br />b. Neoprene water stop 3/16 -inch thick and 15/16 -inch in diameter whose center hole <br />is '/2 diameter of tie, or a molded plastic water stop of comparable size. <br />c. Water stop: Oriented perpendicular to tie and symmetrical about center of tie. <br />d. Design ties to prevent rotation or disturbance of center portion of tie during removal <br />of ends and to prevent water leaking along tie. <br />H. Wedge Inserts. <br />1. Malleable iron with galvanized askew -head bolts, nuts, and washers; Hohmann and <br />Barnard "type HW"; Richmond Screw Anchor, "Peerless"; Weston Co., "WC 50", or <br />equal. <br />I. Polyethylene Film. <br />1. Product Standard PS17; six (6) mil. <br />J. Form Coating: <br />1. Non -staining chemical release agent that will not damage the concrete surface. <br />2. Environmentally safe, meeting local, state, and federal regulations and certified by <br />manufacturer for use in clean water treatment plants.
