Section 02050 Demolition <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Demolition and removal and disposal of the existing reinforced concrete and drop pipe <br />energy dissipation structure at the left (south) abutment of the tailing dam embankment. <br />Removal and temporary stockpiling of riprap at the existing energy dissipation structure. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS (Not Applicable) <br />PART 3 — EXECUTION <br />3.1 DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Cease operations and notify Engineer immediately if adjacent slopes, structures or <br />portions of any structure to remain are damaged or appear to be in danger of collapse or <br />other damage during demolition. <br />3.2 DEMOLITION, DISASSEMBLY AND REMOVAL <br />A. The existing reinforced concrete drop structure and 48 -inch pipe at the left (south) <br />abutment of the San Luis Tailing Dam shall be demolished, transported, and stockpiled in <br />Owner -designated on-site spoil areas or disposed of off-site at the discretion of the <br />Contractor. <br />3.3 OFF-SITE DISPOSAL <br />A. Contractor shall properly dispose of metal equipment, parts and debris removed during <br />demolition at an off-site location. <br />B. At Contractor's option, concrete demolition debris may be properly disposed of at an off- <br />site location. <br />3.4 ON-SITE DISPOSAL <br />A. At Contractor's option, concrete demolition debris may be stockpiled on-site location <br />shown on the drawings. The corrugated metal pipe in the existing drop structure shall be <br />disposed of offsite. <br />B. If stockpiled of on-site, Contractor shall place concrete debris within designated on-site <br />spoil areas as shown on the Drawings. <br />Demolition February 2017 02050-1 <br />
