EXHIBIT D—Reclamation Plan (6.3.Q
It is the intent of the landowner/operator to reclaim the affected area to meet the criteria for
rangeland development. Reclamation efforts will remain consistent throughout all phases and are
discussed as follows:The method proposed to replace overburden and topsoil will involve slot
dozing the respective material from atop the peripheral mining boundaries. The area will then be
graded to meet the post-mining development requirements. Reclamation contours are shown on
Exhibit E-2.
(a) Upon cessation of intermittent mining operations, applicant will regrade excavated areas and
place 1-2 feet of overburden over mine floor.
(b) The post-mining slope along mining limits will be regraded to no less than a 3:1 slope ratio.
(c) It is the intent of the applicant to revegetate each mining phase as it is depleted of resource and
regraded with overburden and available soil suitable for plant growth.
i. Soil suitable as a plant growth medium will be replaced at a depth of 6-8 inches where
available.
ii. The seedbed will be disced. Fertilizers are not expected to be necessary for the
establishment of the grass vegetation proposed below.
iii. The dryland grass species proposed and the quantity of planting are as follows:
Western Wheatgrass - 5.5#pls/ac
Needle and Thread - 3.5#pis/ac
Russian Wildrye - 5.0#pls/ac
iv. Planting method proposed is seed drilling
V. Concurrent with seed planting, hydro-mulching is proposed to protect and enhance the
seedbed.
As stated above, the applicant intends to fully reclaim each ten acre mining phase as the
resource is depleted. Incremental regrading within each phase will be performed
following every seasonal operation of the mine.
