EXHIBIT C—Mining Plan.( .3.3)
(a) To supply materials necessary for CDOT Project No. NHPP 1602-145(20155) it is anticipated that
mining will begin in mid to late March 2017 and end in May 2017.
Demand for materials for the above referenced project will be minimal(5,000-8,000 tons).
There will remain significant reserves within the Mine area boundary for several more years of
operation. The applicant will notify the board of an intermittent cessation of operations for a
period of more than 180 days.
(b) Soil suitable for plant growth is estimated to be 6—8" in depth. This soil will be removed from
within only the area necessary for gravel extraction for this and subsequent projects. It will be
stockpiled separately upland of the mining area as shown on Exhibit E-1.
(c) The average depth of overburden is estimated at 2-4 feet. No waste rock extraction is
anticipated.Overburden will be stockpiled as shown on exhibit E-1.
(d) The thickness of the deposit to be mined is approximately 12 feet.
(e) The proposed mining operation will include the use of an existing road from which intersects
with Rio Grande County Road 50(CR 50).There are no permanent improvements planned for
this site at this time. The mining operation will consist of a portable crushing and screening plant
and associated heavy equipment.
(f) The initial mined area will be less than one acre in size. Plant staging and stockpiling will
encompass approximately 2 acres.
(g) The existing access road is approximately 2,000 feet in length and 10-12 feet wide. It is an
unimproved roadway. Hauling operations will dictate some temporary improvements during the
short term of this project. The applicant will explore a more permanent and direct access to Hwy
160(see"Proposed Future Access"on Exhibit E-1).
(h) The applicant anticipates 3,000 gallons of water per day of operation will be necessary on days
with no precipitation. This water will be transported by truck from the towns of Del Norte or
South Fork.
(i) No groundwater is anticipated to be encountered during the mine operation.
0) The applicant will comply with all applicable Colorado water laws.
