•
EXHIBIT 'A' (Addendum)
Mine Boundary Change
In 1992, permits for the East Weld Sanitary Landfill (EWSL)
were approved. EWSL permit boundary includes Section 26 and
35. Coors Energy Company (CEC) agreed to give our best
effort to release and vacate Mine Permit Boundaries in
said sections. CEC will no longer mine coal on Sections 25:
and 36 and CEC has never disturbed lands by ash disposal or
mining in Sections 35 and 26. However, it remains in Coors
best interest to continue ash disposal.
For those reasons, new permit boundaries are being proposed
to include only those areas in Sections 25 and 36 of Township
3 North, Range 64 West. The western permit boundary will be
congruent with the west section line of said sections. (SEE
EXHIBIT "A", LEGAL DESCRIPTION and APPENDIX 'Al")
The metes and bounds description on "EXHIBIT "A" includes
all mine disturbed areas and Pits. This description
includes present ash disposal operations in A Pit and B Pit,
which has thirty (30) plus years capacity for ash disposal at
the current rate. The Surface Features Map - Appendix "M-1"
shows existing surface features and the new Mine Permit
boundary.
The following site facilities are within the description
boundary and continue to be used or rented to businesses in
the area:
• Asphalt paved access road 8 right-of-way
• Sediment Pond N2
• Shop/office/warehouse
• Laramie-Foxhills water well #1
• Sewage treatment plant
• Electrical distribution lines
Within the area to be vacated are Monitoring Wells,
originally used for pump draw -down analysis. See the
Hydrology Description 2.04.7, TR -27 for further
clarification. There will be no change to the Operation Plan
2.05.3 and Reclamation Plan 2.05.4.
Approval of this technical revision will more fully
exemplify Coors Energy Company's future operation plans as a
disposal sight rather than a coal mining operation. Further,
Coors Energy Company is not requesting a bond release at this
time.
9/93
