Since critical ttable = 0.849 (one -tailed, alpha = 0.2, 52 do and tcd, of 0.775 is not greater than this
critical value, reclamation success for Phase III shrub concentration area density in 2012 is NOT
demonstrated using this parametric reverse -null t-test.
Since sample adequacy was not achieved in the woody plant density concentration area in 2012,
and revegetation success for woody plant density was NOT demonstrated using a reverse -null t-
test, an alternate non -parametric reverse null approach based on a Quantile Test (Gilbert 1987,
Conover 1980) was used as allowed in CDMG 2005 revised rule, 4.15.11 (3)(a). The test equation:
1
L=p(n+1)— Z[np(1—p)]Z
Table 6. Please refer to
text pages 21 and 22 and calculations in Table J-3 (Appendix J) in the vegetation success
evaluation report contained in Attachment D for further details and discussion. Also note that
the demonstrated woody plant density concentration area occupies over 10 percent of BRB
PSCM-2, well exceeding the minimum requirement of 5 percent.
2014 Woody Plant Density Success Evaluation
The background density of 509.9 stems per acre observed in the 2014 BRB PSCM-2 Phase III
bond release area exceeded the 180 stems per acre performance standard. The mean of 2513.1
stems per acre observed in the concentration areas also well exceeds the 1800 stems per acre
performance standard.
