t z—(0.9*technical standard
calc = s
S
t,a,, = (9.411 — 5.59) / (2.485 / q32) = 8.698
Since critical gable = 0.853 (one -tailed, alpha = 0.2, 32-1 df) is exceeded by t«,c (8.698), the
hypothesis of no difference is rejected and reclamation success for BRB PSCM-2 production
under Phase III is demonstrated in 2014.
Successful revegetation for the parameter of production was demonstrated in both 2012
and 2014.
Woody Plant Density. The criterion for determining success of woody plant density at the
PSCM mine site is as follows: Background average woody density >_ 200 stems per acre with at
least 5% of the BRB bond release block possessing >_ 2000 stems per acre of concentrated woody
density. Success is evaluated using 90% of the standard values or 180 stems per acre and 1800
stems per acre, respectively.
The locations of high density woody plant "Concentration Areas" in the BRB PSCM-2 bond
release area were documented using aerial photography (Routt County DOQQ 2009) verified by
field mapping in the summer of 2012. During the mapping, high density was reserved for those
areas apparently (visually) greater than or equal to 2000 shrubs per acre (25 shrubs per 100 square
meter). All portions of the BRB PSCM-2 bond release block outside of these concentration areas
were labeled as "Background" density. Table 5 below summarizes the results.
Table 5. 2012 and 2014 Data and Sample Adequacy Summary for Background and
Concentrated Area Woody Plant Density, Phase III BRB PSCM-2.
Woody Density Area
Woody Density
s
N
Nmin
t
and Sampling Year
(stems/acre)
Background Density
773.0
1489.2
53
272
1.282
2012 BRB PSCM-1 Phase III
Concentrated Area Density
2068.0
2517.2
53
109
1.282
2012 BRB PSCM-1 Phase III
Background Density
509.9
951.0
32
255
1.309
