/SOF Cp�O\COLORADO <br />>Y <br />Department of Public '> <br />s health & Environment <br />Dedicated to protecting and improving the health and environment of the people of Colorado <br />January 4, 2017 <br />Mr. Ben Moline <br />Coors Energy Company <br />1801 California Street <br />Suite 4600 <br />Denver, Colorado 80202 <br />Re: December 12, 2016 Meeting: CDPHE Decisions and Closure/Post-closure Plan Update Requirement <br />Keenesburg Ash Disposal Facility <br />SW/WLD/C00 4.3 <br />Mr. Moline, <br />The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (the "Department") Hazardous Materials and Waste <br />Management Division (the "Division") and Molson Coors met on December 12, 2016 with staff from the Division of <br />Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) to discuss closure and plan updates for the Coors Energy Company <br />Keenesburg Ash Disposal Facility (the "Facility") located at 13495 Weld County Road 61, 7 miles northwest of <br />Keenesburg, Colorado. In attendance were" <br />Mr. Benjamin Moline, P.E., Molson Coors <br />Mr. Dan Hernandez, DRMS <br />Ms. Tabitha Lynch, DRMS <br />Ms. Robin Reilley, DRMS <br />Mr. Jerry Henderson, CDPHE <br />Mr. Eric Jacobs, P.G., CDPHE <br />This letter is to summarize the decisions made during this meeting. <br />1) The Facility will continue final closure of the mining area in accordance with the approved DRMS permit. <br />Final as -built design documentation will be submitted to the CDPHE for filing in the administrative record. <br />2) The Facility does have solid wastes in place and will therefore be subject to the CDPHE's post -closure <br />care requirements pursuant to Sections 2.6 and 3.6 of 6 CCR 1007-2, Part 1, the Regulations Pertaining to <br />Solid Waste Sites and Facilities (the "Regulations"). As part of this post -closure care requirement the <br />Facility shall be required to: <br />a. prepare an updated groundwater monitoring plan pursuant to Section 2.2 of the Regulations and <br />submit the plan to the Division for approval; <br />b. prepare a post -closure plan that includes the minimum requirements pursuant to Section 3.6 of <br />the Regulations including: <br />i. provisions to prevent nuisance conditions; <br />4300 Cherry Creek Drive S., Denver, CO 80246-1530 P 303-692-2000 www.cotorado.gov/cdphe <br />John W.
