Box 567 <br />Cheyenne Wells, CO 808I0 <br />RE: Request Approved; Munsch Pit; Permit No. M-2000-018 <br />Dear Ms. Brossman, <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) received your request to be allowed to begin <br />repairing portions of the affected lands that have been damaged from erosion at the Munsch Pit (Permit <br />No. M-2000-018). The Division understands these repair activities will involve the re-establishment of <br />the creek bank and back filling the head cut in the creek channel near the southeast corner of the site. <br />The Operator and permit is under a Cease and Desist Order from the Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />regarding Violation No. MV -2016-052. The Order states that the Operator shall CEASE AND DESIST <br />any further mining related activity, with the exception of any activity approved in writing by the <br />Division necessary to comply with the conditions of a Board Order, prevent damage to off-site areas or <br />to protect public health and safety, until corrective actions have been resolved to the satisfaction of the <br />Division and the Board. <br />The Operator has yet to resolve the corrective actions associated with Violation No. MV -2016-052. <br />However, the activities you have requested will prevent further off-site damage and could protect public <br />health and safety.
