The unfenced woody concentration areas (Supplemental Table E, Attachment E) averaged a total
of 3106 woody plant stems per acre over 20% of BRB-1.
Use of a reverse -null t-test of the assertion that the 2015 BRB-1 unfenced woody concentration
plant density exceeds 90% of standard P2 is shown as follows:
— (0.9 * technical standard)
tcalc =
S
?2
tcale= (3 106 — 900)/(3683N5 = 4.277
Since critical ttable = 0.853 (one -tailed, alpha = 0.2, 32-1 df) and tcalc is greater than this critical
value, and the sampled area comprises 20% of the BRB-1 area (exceeding the 10% requirement),
it is concluded reclamation success for unfenced woody concentration area plant density for
Phase III in 2015 is demonstrated.
The Fenced Upland Shrub and Tree area (Supplemental Table F, Attachment E) averaged a total
of 4308 woody plant stems per acre of which 233 stems per acre were tall shrubs and trees. No
standard for a tall shrub and tree component is required under Secondary Standard S1.
Use of a reverse -null t-test of the assertion that the 2015 BRB-1 Fenced Upland Shrub and Tree area
total woody plant density exceeds 90% of standard S1 is shown as follows:
T — (0.9 *technical standard)
tcale = F
rte)
tcalc = (4308 — 850)/(3962/30) = 4.780
Since critical ttable = 0.853 (one -tailed, alpha = 0.2, 32-1 df) and tcalc is greater than this critical
value, reclamation success for fenced concentration area woody plant density for Phase III in
2015 is demonstrated.
SL -6 - 23
